Super Baltars
Soft, Vintage, Warm Tones, Medium Contrast
Bausch and Lomb Super Baltar lenses are where it all started for NYCC. Made in the 1950’s these lenses were coveted by the late cinematographer Harris Savides, and used in many of his films like Margot at the Wedding and Birth. These were also a favorite of the late Gordon Willis and are commonly known as The Godfather lenses. A warm overall look with a cool blue cobalt coating gives excellent color contrast, cool shadows, and cold / rainbow flare. They have soft focus roll-off and impeccable skin tones.
